An Interview with Natalie Ruze, Enrolled In The Rozaria Memorial Trusts’ Non Formal Re-entry Program
Natalie Ruze is one of the girls who got the chance to be enrolled in the non- formal re-entry program. She is 18 years old and lives in Ruze village, Murewa District, Zimbabwe. Living with her mother in the village, Natalie always wanted to do something in her life which can make her earn money. She was not going to work. Being identified in this program was a great opportunity for her because she knew of the empowerment opportunity.
The way she has worked hard is quite impressive because she had already finished the first garment and now is about to start the second piece of clothing which is the six piece skirt. In an interview with Natalie highlighted that:
“In my life I had a passion in dressmaking, when the opportunity came to me I was really happy. Since I started this course I have never faced any challenges, am actually happy with the progress I have made. Sitting at home was a great challenge to me because I felt less empowered and I had low self esteem.
Now that am being empowered I will keep working hard. If the program continues I desire for other girls to be trained as well so that everyone can be empowered with different skills. This is a good program which came at the right time”.
